Gala and Black-Tie Event Companion in New York

Plus One, Properly provides founder-led, platonic companionship for galas, benefit dinners and cultural events in the New York metropolitan area. Attire, tickets, table arrangements, introductions and departure are agreed before the evening.

Preparation for a formal room

A gala often has several distinct settings: arrival and a receiving line, drinks before dinner, a seated program, and conversation afterwards. Some evenings are social; others also carry professional obligations. Knowing what you want from each part makes the preparation useful.

We discuss who invited you, who may be at your table, whether your firm or a friend is hosting, and when you need to circulate independently. Your companion can participate naturally in conversation while leaving you room to speak with the people you came to see.

Dress for the invitation

Send the dress code exactly as written. Black tie, white tie, cocktail attire and business formal are different instructions. Any event-specific wardrobe beyond ordinary black tie or business formal is considered separately before an engagement is agreed.

Confirm whether arrival involves a particular entrance, guest check-in or a scheduled reception. The meeting point should be public and specific enough that neither of you is searching for the other outside a busy venue.

Tickets and seating come first

A seat at a benefit table or admission to a museum event must be available for your companion. Confirm the guest policy with the organizer, submit the required name, and establish whether tickets include dinner, a reception or both.

Event admission and other approved third-party expenses are separate from the professional fee. Where practical, purchase tickets directly. The written quote sets out duration and costs before payment; a gala is not automatically covered by the public $1,500 starting fee.

Company without a relationship performance

You do not need an invented story to arrive with someone. Introductions can be brief and truthful, with language agreed beforehand. This service is social companionship only and offers no romantic, sexual or legal services.

The founder personally provides every accepted engagement. The founder introduction and complete pricing are public; email verification opens the private request area. A short video call is optional, and acceptance depends on availability and fit.
